BurgerBusiness Burger Brackets Are Back!

[AND THE WINNER, FOR THE SECOND YEAR IN A ROW, IS BLANC BURGERS + BOTTLES! CONGRATULATIONS TO BLANC AND TO RUNNER-UP JAKE'S WAYBACK BURGER. CHECK THE FINAL BRACKET SPREADSHEET HERE.  Read the final story here.]

It’s March Madness on a bun, baby! It’s the BurgerBusiness.com Burger Brackets. It’s 64 burger concepts facing off in four regionals named for burger pioneers: Wendy’s founder Dave Thomas, McDonald’s Corp. founder Ray Kroc; Burger King creator Jim McLamore; and Carl’s Jr. founder Carl Karcher.

This year’s top seeds are last year’s Final Four burger concepts: Blanc Burgers + Bottles, In-N-Out Burger, Cheeseburger Bobby’s and Rare Bar & Grill. Blanc Burgers + Bottles emerged victorious last year, but this is a whole new year.

First, take a look at the 2011 Burger Brackets spreadsheet here the Sweet 16 spreadsheet here. To check the round by round progress, visit the burger brackets site here.

How do you vote? Scroll down to the bottom of this post or click the handy “Leave a comment” link  (and scroll down). Cast your vote for your favorite (one vote per person per round, please) and cheer it on to the next round. If there are no votes in a head-to-head battle, I pick. On what basis? Whim. This is just for fun, folks. If your burger joint isn’t among this year’s 64, well, someone always gets burned when the brackets are announced.

Best of luck to all 64 concepts. Here are the First Round head-to-head battles. Find your favorite and support it!:
