The latest incarnation of its slogan, “Sonic good.” (at left), is pretty toothless, but at least it was a slogan. Many chains—Hardee’s, Carl’s Jr. and Five Guys among them—seem to have given up crafting a memorable positioning line for their advertising. That’s unfortunate for a category that has given us “Have it your way,” “Hot ‘n juicy,” “You deserve a break today” and other classic lines.
Let’s give some guidance to whichever ad shop takes on the Sonic brand. Which burger chain’s ad slogan is the most likable, memorable and persuasive? I know those are three qualities, but which one slogan works best for you?
