The Checkers/Rally’s system includes 820 drive-in restaurants in the U.S., but just 18 of those units are getting an ambitious new array of burgers. The Flavor Built Burgers menu encompasses six different sandwiches, each of which can be ordered as a single-, double- or triple-patty build. Whether its kitchen operations can handle the arrival of essentially 18 new burger builds at once likely is what Checkers is testing with this very limited tryout.
Here’s the lineup, which for now is available only in 18 locations in South Florida (Palm Beach and Broward Counties):
© Bacon Cheddar Works: Two types of bacon, Cheddar cheese and lettuce, tomato, etc. toppings. The Double Built Bacon Cheddar Works burger is offered initially at $2.99. Prices for other burgers in the line were not available.
© A.1. Prime Time Steakhouse: Garlic-Parmesan butter, grilled onions, Cheddar cheese and A.1. Thick & Hearty Steak Sauce.
© Backwoods B-B-Q: Peppered bacon, fried onion rings, ranch dressing, Cheddar cheese, smoky barbecue sauce and a proprietary blend of barbecue spices.
© Baconzilla: American cheese, Cheddar cheese sauce and four (count ‘em, four) bacon slices.
© Savory Shroom & Swiss: Sautéed Portobello mushrooms, season grilled onions and melted Swiss cheese.
© Spicy Queso Bueno: Crispy jalapeños, a fried onion ring, Cheddar cheese sauce and fajita grilled onions.
