Hardee’s this week added a new Ribeye Steak, Egg & Cheese Biscuit to its morning menu. The item combines thinly sliced rib-eye steak, a folded egg and Swiss cheese on one of the chain’s signature Made from Scratch buttermilk biscuits. It’s $2.99 alone or $4.69 in a combo with Hash Rounds and beverage.
Sister chain Carl’s Jr. doesn’t get steak yet. Instead, it has added a Bacon, Egg & Cheese Biscuit.
Steak also is on the morning menu at McDonald’s in Canada, where an upgraded version of a U.S. breakfast item was introduced this week. The Steak ’n Egg Bagel sandwich is a regular or multigrain bagel toped with steak, sautéed onions, cheese, a folded egg and that British import, HP sauce.

McDonalds needs to bring this bagel to the USA.
I had the steak and egg bagel yesterday. Took two bites and threw it out. Just nasty. Waste of $5
the Hardees Ribeye Steak Egg and Cheese Biscuit sounded promising, Unfortunately it was a real let-down. The Ribeye kind of tastes like that processed meat you get in those little packages at the grocers. not very appealing at all =(((
After trying the McDonald’s steak and egg bagel, I have no idea how it made it out of the focus group, never mind test market.
I JUST tried the Canadian McD’s Steak & Egg Bagel…..VERY disappointed! The HP sauce TOTALLY changes the taste from the US version …and NOT for the better. The US one is waaay better. The Bagel is a lot softer, the piece of Steak is bigger …no BBQ sauce….all around a better tasting product. I will not be purchasing another one in Canada. Another typical “Canadianized” US product…..it sells very well in the US….sooo…..let’s change it!?! Brutal.
